BUYS' SWIMMING Although handicapped by the loss of several of last year's stars, the Boy's Swimming Team completed a good season this winter. With Master Fred's sound advice and encouragement, the backlog of returning lettermen found support in the hard working members of the squad who came up to take empty first and second positions. Cap- tain Pete Malcolm regularly rolled up the points as first man in the 50 yard freestyle and 150 individual medley. John Radbill, manager, led the freestyle hundred and with Les Spellman on top in the baclcstroke and Phil Shore first man in the 200 yard freestyle these four made up the roll of second year varsity men. Regulars on the starting lineup were Andre Desobeau, breaststroke, and second place men Da've F. Sutton, Individual Medleyg Len Winslow, 100 yard freestyle, Mike Rogers, fiftyg and Pete Shaw, backstroke. Sten Klinteberg and Ernie Kalebala also swam the freestyle arid Bart jones the breaststroke. V One of the most exciting meets of the year was against West Chester High, February 6. Malcolm took firsts in the 50 and individual medley and Spellman won his event in a very close race, and the start of the last event, the Freestyle Relay, found the score tied, 34-34. But West- town came through to take the relay with Rogers, Shore, Radbill and Spellman and thus the meet by a 41-34 count. V A, --1c.Q,Q
