STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council that was organized in March ot195l has continued 'Uunugh this year Every veek this organize tion meets on Monday The representatives selected fromeach class are Freshman J nie Kirk, Tom Lamar,and clyde Rowland, Sophomore Donald Pepper, Beverly Steele, and Rosemary Plummer, Junior Susan Hull Bob Rutherford, and Elva Mae Blakley, Senior Eleanor Angelbeck, Burton Hiatt, and Donald Koon The officers are President, John Driskell Vice Pres ident, Bob Rutherford, Secretary, Rosemary Plummer, Reporter Eleanor Angelbeck, Sponsor, harvin Platz In November it was decided to amend the oldoonstitution and let the student body vote on its acceptance It was passed by majority vote SCHOOL BOY PATROL A school patrol unit was organized several years ago and then was dropped for a time The patrol as it is now known was organized in the school year l9L7 48 Twelve boys are on the school boy patrol ten regulars and two substitutes Patrol members elected their captain Most of the members are chosen from the seventh and eighth grades but the fifth and sixth grade boys are also eligible These boys are chosen for patrol on the basis Two boys are assigned to the patrol daily and are on duty before school, at noon and after school Their duty is to direct and assist the children at the school crossing and to report trafilc violations of the stop lights The boys are issued belts, badges, rain coats and hats A demefitsystem is used to determine the eligibility of the school patrol members GRADE QOHOOLOHORUS In Decemberthe weston Grade school presentedan ooeretta WThe Legend of the snowmann, underthe direction of Ir Niard It consisted of children of grades 2 to 8 Program included dances, songs, and a story of a snowman Playersmho partic ipated were dressed in attractive costumes which dded tothe operetta very much Grade School bhorus consisting of L 5 6 7 8,1epresented Weston at the Grade bchool County Festival at Platte City There they sang HBless This Housen and received a I rating E .
