hard work Although the faculty, cooperating with the Board of Education and the administration, effects the actual edu- cating of the student: nevertheless, other employees are also essential to the operation of the school system. Un- fortunately, these additional people, despite qualifications, responsibilities, and performance, seldom achieve recog- nition because their work seems separated from the direct educational process. However, their unnoticed contribu- tions sustain the entire institution. Mrs. Alwine and Mrs. Bates, administrative secretaries. supervise records and bookkeeping, maintain correspond- ence, and fulfill the tedious demands of office work. Also, Mr. Goodwin, the school dietician, directs a cafeteria staff which prepares and serves lunches for ever-complaining individuals. Similarly, Mr. Moors and the custodians must clean the building, groom the grounds--inspire a pleasant atmosphere.
