LIFE ADJUSTMENT EDUCATION ln this do-it-yourself age when everyone is a handyman and shorter working hours mean more leisure time for activities, the industrial arts pro- gram becomes significantly more important. While the industrial arts program did not attempt to train the student for a specific vocation, it did provide him with exploratory vocational expe- riences. Designed to acquaint the student with tools, materials, and the products of industry, this course included units in mechanical drawing, woodworking, plastics, metalworking, electricity, and home mechanics.
