Aspects of fine arts present us with the world of sound and form. Majors are offered in music and music educationg art courses have become important in the Westmont curriculum, especially for education majors. Opportunities are available for students of voice and instruments to perform in evening vespers several times each semester. The Chapel Choir, under the direction of Mr. Wil- liam Beasley, is a new addition to the Westmont campus this year. The music building is often the scene of practice sessions.

T 'And 2 Dr. Merton Osborn Chairman, Division of Education and Psychology Associate Professor of Education B.Ed., Brockport State College M.S., University of Southern California Ed.D., University of Southern California A student in the Department of Education and Psychology is trained to be a leader in inter-personal relationships and to share in the guidance and training of others. The education department carefully selects and educates qualified, Christian young people as teachers. Approximately one-third of the students are education majors at the general elementary or secondary levels. The future teachers spend one semester under a master teacher in various schools in Southern California. In the psychology department either the professional or ap- plied training is provided. Basically the courses are non-tech- nical and established for those not desiring to enter graduate schoolg other courses are recommended if graduate school is the goal. Bettie Ann Thompson and Kay Carstensen make a bulletin board for a project in Audio- Visual Aids. . . .
