Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies BIBLICAL STLIDIESA This window sheds light on the basic questions of life. The aim of the division is to so present Holy Scriptures and the Christian Weltanschouung as to lead each student to appreciate his own spiritual heritage, to aid him in the shap- ing of his own faith and walk, and to encourage him to ac- tually seek Gocl's will for his worship and service. This year the division added a new professor to its ranks of able teachers. Dr. David Hubbard, an alumnus, joined the faculty 'after receiving his doctorate from St. Andrews in Scotland. Although the subject is serious and the aim lofty, students like to remember some things that were less solemn. Be that as it may, it may be remembered that Rev. Nelson's Notes bring to mind a story once heard by Dr. Hubbard, which Dr. Monroe thought was v-e-r-y interesting. REV. JAMES NELSON, Th.M. Assistant Professor of Bible

Assistant Professor of Sociology The social science window is framed by the aim to show that human life means relationships with individuals and with groupsg membership in social institutions and involvement in social processes. They hope to bring the student to readiness as a human being to assume responsibility for the solu- tion of social problemsg and at Westmont to do so as a Christian moved by disinterested love. All stu- dents are required to become familiar with our national heritage and the heritage of mankind. Ad- vanced courses are offered in history and political scienceg in sociology and economics. In the midst of serious study Mr. Kingma's stu- dents like to remember how in the intensity of mak- ing some very important point his And now, Boys and Girls . . ., would lose the whole class to the point he was making. Dr. Nettles arouses the interest of his students as he lectures on the History of the United States.
