G. A. A. girls aim at a more complete understanding of sports. G.A.A. Is For Girls Who EHj.Ql Athletics Peggy Ranum-Sec. , Mary Morton-Tres. , Mrs. Herron-Sponsor, Sandy Hansen-Vice Pres. , Sherril Tyus-Pres. 1141? ta 30 The purpose of G. A. A. is to promote a better understanding of sports to the girls of Westminster High who maintain a C average or better. The club tries to achieve this by having the girls participate in the various sports. By participating the girl is able to get more out of watching the different sports for she understands the rules by which they are played and the object of the game. Also a girl enjoys a game if she understands it. Some of the sports covered within the club are football, volleyball, basketball, bowling, swimming, track, and baseball. G. A. A. is for those who really enjoy sports and wish to know more about them both in subject matter and skill.

Nzght Lamps um As Editor Editors and staff of the Independent burned the midnight oil trying to meet deadlines. The staff strived to give the school the best paper possible by informing the student body of news and views, giving credit Where credit was due and pointing an occasional finger at deficiencies. Several editorials proved successful when desired changes Were accomplished. The status of the paper was enhanced as it became a vital force Within the family of Westminster High School.
