Council Speaks as One of the most important organiza- tions at WHS is the student council, the voice of the student body. Its members are selected each year as representatives from the various classes while the officers are elect- ed by popular vote. Council meets once a week rotating hours each week. Opportunities of self-discipline, leadership, and responsibility make council membership a rewarding position. Council provides a training ground for both leaders and followersg it provides real-life situations where members learn true citizenshipg it prepares students for intelligent Voice ff Wa wioffs participation in school affairsg it gives each member the opportunity to use his own abilities to the best advantageg it provides every day governmental experiencesg and finally, promotes understanding and appreciation between students and faculty. The primary purpose of council is to act as a forum in which the students are represented. Council representatives act as channels through which student opinion can be expressed. Council has matured during the passing yearg it truly speaks as the voice of the Warriors.
