, Senior Class Play H ilarzeus When There? Dz'rQ2 Work At The Cr0ssr0aa's Dirty Work at the Crossroads is a typical melodrama in true gay nin- ties style. This tear-jerking play tells of the innocent country girl, the hand- some blacksmith's son, the villian and his wife, a former burlesque queen. The dispicable villian poisons the country girl's mother, drives the b1acksmith's son to drink, blackmails a wealthy widow, and chases her daughter . . . all in true villianous fashion. CAST Nellie . . . . . Ida... Mookie . . . Widow .... . . Millionairess . . Leonie . . . . . Fleurette . . Little Nell . . The blacksmith's son is accused of murder, sentenced to hang, and the only way to save him is for the inno- cent country girl to marry the already- married villian. Adam however tries to escape the gallows, is trussed to the usual railroad track, the train is fast approaching, when a switch takes place somehow.
