T 14095 seek Dancing the Night Away Sock Hops were held in the gym, following most of the home football games. The D.J.'s played a variety of music, including New Ro- mantic, New Wave, or just simple rock-n- roll. This variety of sound brought many stu- dents to the dance floor to enjoy their favorites. Usually the students danced not with one partner but as a group with many friends. The exception was the slow dances which made the evening special. When asked what songs stood out in her mind Jessica Johnson replied, Planet Earth by Duran Duran because Claire, Tracey, Sherrie, made fools of ourselves in public act- ing out the song. Showing his stuff - Kari Hashimoto shows the crowd how to break. HI mom - Felix England shows his form on the dance floor. Fearsome two-some Ken White and Jamie Wells take a X breather frcqn the dance floor. 'XQQ239 Q91 Q ' X ry J, QQYGQUU LX 'wk55jQyE5f e5 XY 059 U ll. 012, , Qgsgqrsii tw OKQN OJ rival by K9 QFA QDQL . Seniors Go Hawaiian The Senior Luau took place in the gym, with about 300 enthusiastic seniors. The evening started with everyone eating a Ha- waiian meal while sitting on the floor. The show commenced with a young boy coming out and blowing a giant shell horn, a tradi- tional starter of all Hawaiian events. Then came the dancers as entertainment for the enjoyment of everyone. To keep the seniors in good spirits the following seniors showed everyone how to dance in grass skirts: Mackay Galoia, Mike Gordon, Ken Hammond, Kevin Kappen and Ken Mout. The audience laughed out loud when these beauties did their thing. Before entering the Luau, each senior voted for the Senior Luau King, Phil Car- reon, and Queen Michelle Shima. They both appeared surprised and honored. Hairy Beauty - McKay Galoia is one of the beauties who shows the crowd how to move. We finally made lt - Mike Gordon and Loren Burk- man finally return from the food line. 22 Student LifefSr. Luau Surfing in the U.S.A. - Mike Glasgow shows the crowd what surfing in Hawaii is all about. 3 e .- K- i , i l . -M is fur ' .Q A l ,Y 1' . is 3 J rss. ,n K L- .. . , ,fi Q ..f
