0 Look Out Broadway! We're here Country Cabaret, presented by the per- forming arts department, was an exciting show filled with music, dancing and lots of laughs. Costumed in denim, boots, and smiles, the performers had the audience clapping and stomping along with them. Drama's Hee Haw style comedy segments kept the atmosphere light. The vocal ar- rangements written by Joe Kral the choral director, filled the stage with good country rhythm and lots of energy. The show sold out two of its three nights. Some of the more memorable numbers were I See the Light an inspiring, exuberant gospel, Coun- try Roads, an eight part harmonic ballad, and Rocky Top, the dynamic closer which brought down the house. Singing minister - James Joanson performs his solo in the sold out Cabaret. Ye Haw! Todd DeGraw and Pam Smith show their west- ern spirit. 18 Student Life! Country Cabaret ,Wim M! My-if--1

T 14095 seek Dancing the Night Away Sock Hops were held in the gym, following most of the home football games. The D.J.'s played a variety of music, including New Ro- mantic, New Wave, or just simple rock-n- roll. This variety of sound brought many stu- dents to the dance floor to enjoy their favorites. Usually the students danced not with one partner but as a group with many friends. The exception was the slow dances which made the evening special. When asked what songs stood out in her mind Jessica Johnson replied, Planet Earth by Duran Duran because Claire, Tracey, Sherrie, made fools of ourselves in public act- ing out the song. Showing his stuff - Kari Hashimoto shows the crowd how to break. HI mom - Felix England shows his form on the dance floor.
