Mr. Krone APPRECIATIGN Giving credit Where credit is due suggests that this year the Pan- orama staff express appreciation to our custodians, cooks, and bus drivers for the services that they willingly render to all of us. llt is seldom that we students realize the dedication that these fine people possess else, how would they do their jobs so well'?7 As the prime example of dedication, Mr. Ed Krone, head custo- clian, receives our special appreciation. Mr. Krone has served West- lake High School for eight years, and his services have been one of the prime factors contributing to our school's pleasant atmosphere. 5

Mr. Miller We, the members of the 1961 Panorama staff, dedicate this book to the faculty of West- lake I-Iigh, and especially to you, Mr. Miller, for all you contributed toward the benefit of our high school and its stu- dent body. In your English classes, s t u de nt s have learned what really good literature is and how to find the meaning of a story and apply it to their daily lives. It was through you that many of us first learned of our talents in the fields of writing and s p e e c h. You have also shown us that Latin is not merely an ancient language, but a dynamic force, that in some way or another enters into the life of nearly every- one in the world. And without your imagination and assist- ance, Mr. Miller, this year- book could not have been made possible. For these and myriad other reasons, we express to you our profound thanks and a sincere hope that you will be a part of life at Westlake for many years to come.

Superintendent Mr. Lee G. Burneson is a marvelous person. His hundreds of duties--many times increased since the be- ginning of building our new high school--keep him out of sight much of the time. However, his rank is remembered and appreciatedg his thirty-six years of patience and devotion, commendable. BOARD OF EDUCATION They pay our teachers, order our books, plan our curricu- lum. To us students, an in- dispensible group of fine citi- zens.
