DEDICATION By patience and endurance we sever What strength and rage could never. Jean de Lafontaine Fables In our scientific era with its emphasis on the search for truth, it is appropriate that we should have as our class advisor a man whose life has been devoted to this search. In our search for truth we began as eager and willing but unsure novices. The knowledge of his dependability and faith in us erased our uncer- tainties and led us to a gradually deepening con- fidence. He guided our experiments by which theories became reality. To all our class activities he has given the same untiring and selfless devotion that he brings to his life ' s work, science. His formula for success in all his work is one that each of us can apply in becoming competent teachers. This inspiring formula is patience + hardwork + sincerity = success. The nucleus of our class advisor ' s success is dedication. Therefore, in recognition of this out- standing characteristic, we, the Class of 1963, dedicate our yearbook to Mr. J. Kenneth Taylor.

DR. EDWARD J. SCANLON PRESIDENT EMERITUS Class of 1963: In grateful recognition of your kind and thoughtful request to write a few words for your yearbook to keep alive the happy years we spent together at Westfield State College, I pen these few lines with sincere affection. To have been associated with pupils so truly representative of the ideals of Westfield State College, so appreciative of my efforts to give you a physical plant for which you can be justly proud, and to have played a part in the academic and spiritual training which should make you educational stalwarts in our great state and nation, is indeed most satisfying. But the warm personal ties of loyalty and friendship which bind us together will always be one of my most cherished memories of the class of 1963. As you leave the beloved portals of Westfield State, Remember good, remember truth, Just know that God cares for You, And you will find through youth and age, True friends to walk with you. v • ' 0 I I EDWARD J.
