A second century of teacher education in Massachusetts and America has begun. You are indeed honored to be the first class in this new era to be graduated from the Westfield State Teachers College. You go out to join the thousands of graduates who have brought honor and glory to Alma Mater not only in the field of education but in all the profes- sions. Their names are legion; their success, a tribute to the thoroughness of the education they received. During the years you have spent under the leadership and guidance of those to whom has been intrusted the duty of imparting a knowl- edge of the arts, sciences and principles of education, you have been subjected to a train- ing severe in its demands but ever developing the ability and professional characteristics which made for success. We have assured you of all the prerequi- sites of a successful teacher. We sliall con- tinue to be at your service as the need arises. May God bless your future, and may your future bring credit to your family, state country, and your college.
