The Doorway of Spirituality THE LAKE As we travel down the unknown corridor of service through life, we have many opportunities presented' to us for the realization of complete living. One of the greatest of these opportunities is the leadership in the realm of the spiritual. The doorway of spirituality beacons each of us to a wholesome appreciation of art, literature, nature, music, personalities-through all of which we can see the spirit of good, beauty, and truth. Such constructive participation enables us to be inspired to become the best within our many limitations. Emerson has said: But in the darkest, meanest things there al- way, alway something sings. Nearly all of us think that we are too busy even to take time to listen for the voice Every soul should be linked to some stabilizing influence, otherwise the individual is likely to drift spiritually without hope. Carlyle says: Man always worships something, always he sees the Infinite shadowed forth in something finite, and, indeed, can and must so see it in any finite thing, once tempt him well to HX his eyes thereon. Western provides opportunities for the development of one's spiritual interests through such agencies as the Christmas festivals, concerts, operas, art exhibitions, libraries, the Y.M.C.A., the Y.W.C.A., and its beautiful campus. We must not linger too long here if we desire the joys to be found in the other great rooms of life. Let us continue our journey!
