Twelfth grade math student David Evans ponders the angle-side relationships of isosceles triangles. Math stimulates logic and understanding Did you know that four plus four equals one? It does in seventh grade modular arithmetic-a new study dealing with number relationships. Another innovation this year was the offering of geometry to certain qualified freshman as part of a city-wide experimental program. Most West High students, however, continued the study of traditional algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. Some took more practical courses such as business or consumer math. All math courses at Western Hills give the students good background for their future jobs in this technical age. Accurate use of the slide rule is demonstrated by George Hain. This timesaving device is one very essential part' of the Advanced Math lll class. l l
