One can be sure to find the Western Hills, office run smoothly and records kept up-to-date through the efficient work of our secretaries and treasurer. Compiling data for the morning bulletin, answering telephones, and typing letters are some services the secretaries perform. Bookkeeping and paying the bills provide a more than adequate work for the treasurer. Together they complete the clerical work of the school. AHhough working separafely, Mrs. Adams. Wm; . 4 The senior high counselors. Mr. Conger and Mrs. Heninger happily discuss the results from the college board fesfs which many seniors fuck. Advice and guidance Western I-Iillsi senior high counselors, Mr. Conger and Mrs. I-Ieningcr, have the grut responsibility of presenting seniors with information concerning the vocational opportunities that abound in the United States. With the resources gained from attending city-wide and national conferences and from reading extensively, they counsel each student toward the best path in life. Their diligent work is rewarded by the success of West I-Iiglfs students. Mr. Schlimm and Miss Hammer, our outstanding junior high counselors, help the younger students make their individual adjustments. Daily they calm studentst fears, adjust their schedules, and give them encouragement. Eventually their wise counseling establishes the students in the adult world. Mr. Schlimm and Miss Hanauer review iunior high situations.

Many times the tangible results are discouraging, but optimism and trust in youth, as the strength of tomorrow,s world, keep teachers ever dedicated to their profession. The result of their efforts is that, almost unnoticeably, we leave behind the insecurity and limited outlook of childhood and become well adjusted and responsible individuals, able within ourselves to think and to act and to grow.
