18 Mr. ArH'iur Haviovic Principal Our Principafs Day Assuming the titles and responsibilities of executive, leader, citizen, employer, repairman, and hobbyist, Mr. Havlovic has set for Western Hills' students an example of authority, dignity, and ability. Known for his amiability, he tactfully coordinates the separate functions of a school into one smoothly running machine. When not solving the schooYs many perplexing problems, he must attend meetings 01 write reports. Humbly representing twenty- cight hundred pupils and over one hundred teachers, Mr. I-Iavlovic graciously welcomes many Visitors to our busy school. In spite of his very busy schedule, Mr. I-Iavlovic finds opportunities in his home life to pursue his mzmy interesting hobbies. A principal's day involves much more fhan book work; Mr. Havlovic is even asked in repair +he candy machine.

Mr. Richard Hobson Assistan'r Principal Senior High Assistant Principals lead growth toward this day Western Hills is fortunate in having Mr. Hobson as the senior high assistant principal. He proves his capability by handling his many duties with crisp, efficient attention. One may find him planning assemblies, solving disciplinary problems, dispensing locks, tickets or class rings, supervising the supply store, or involved in numerous other tasks. Although working mainly with senior high, he amuscs all with his timely comments. Mr. Strunk finds his second year as Western I-Iills' junior high assistant principal as challenging as the first. He meets daily the many problems of the department with a keen interest, helping to find an adjustment. He has firmness and strength in awkward situations. His leadership ability, faith in people, and sense of humor provide the school with a responsible person among its top command.
