TIME N discussing time, we often have mistaken notions of what constitutes events in a certain period of time. Time is so vast and limitless, that events which seem of great importance to us are perhaps without significance in the great spaces through the ages. But, if we consider time in a period of one hundred years, ten years may have a great meaning. Ten years ago, Western Hills High School was opened. When Western Hills joined the company of well known high schools which had been functioning in Cincinnati for many decades, we felt that we were entering upon a great adventure. We well remember the tenth day of September, 1928. There assembled in our auditorium on that day, a throng of fifteen hundred pupils from many schools, all novv to be amalgamated into one great unit. We promised on that day to strive earnestly to equal the high standards set by the other high schools of Cincinnati.

To Mr. Lewis, the assistant principal and Mr , s. Harris, the dean of girls, we bring our prob' lems sure of ' a sympathetic hear' ing and helpful advice. In the decade which has elapsed, we have recorded that effort on the roll of time. Have we succeeded in implanting into the minds of the youth of today fine ideals of citizen' ship with all that that word connotes? Have we sent our boys and girls forth inspired by ' our example as well as our precept to meet and to solve the problems of the clay? Have we each day acted to the limit of our powers the role in which we were cast? The actions of each day, the duties done, the temptations resisted, the kindnesses scattered along the way of life, the strenuous effort put into a task which may have seemedsfruitless:-gsuch things are inscribed in the roll of time. Each boy and girl has played his part, whether nobly or ignobly has been written in the record. What of the future? Let us hope that in future time, Westerii Hills High School will send forth boys and girls trained to bear the burdens as well as the joys of this great democf racy into which, most fortunately, we were born. You, the members of the class of indite a part of that record on the scroll of time. '38 will B. H. S1E1-IL
