Radio Staff Sponsoring a weekly P.A. news broadcast during record and partic- ipating in many Detroit radio educa- tion department programs are the chief activities of the Western High School radio staff. Members of this group, however, are not limited to radio broadcastsg they may be active in speakers' bureau and forensics as well as other speech activities. Mr. Sloan supervises the gxoup which meets the first hour each day This semester the meetings have been al most entirely student directed and have prospered under this plan Speakers Bureau To introduce speakers at our var ious assemblies is the mam Job of the students who take public speak mg Mr Sloan teaches them to be at ease in front of a group speak at a moment s notice and speak well Stage Crew The fellows behind our smooth running stage productions are these membeis of the stage crew They lowei the l1ghts and adJust the back drops thus plovidmg an atmosphere that is necessny for the success of any program Under the leadeiship of Mr McEwan these boys have a start on a caieer that 1S veiy useful and interesting B1 Phys Chem Club Because this club is made up of physics they have a variety of ac t1v1t1es at then meetings Some en Joy taking water ipait while others would rather perform experiments on white mice The physics students can perform feats of magic with their knowledge of the science The plan of this club is to have individual activities the first thxee Tuesdavs in a month and a demon stration meeting by the students on the fourth Tuesday The officers are Ed Cook pxesident Dona McCauley vice president Pete KOS1b3 secre tary treasurer and Alice Slmp on publicity manager 9 1 1 ' , , . , . , 4 - ' ' . .
