The year started as one ot just painting other schools tor the Rebel Guards, but when Brad Wakeman led them to vvhere Lamar's Key Club had been hiding Johnny Reb tor a year, they tinally got to begin their guard duty. if Although attendance was light A Officers. The Interact Club managed to carry on its activities through another year. The officer's started oft by having a car wash and a bake sale to raise money for the club's activities. Then, in December, the members gave a Christmas Party at The Country Place and collected Christmas toys for the children at Richmond State School forthe Retarded. The interact Club also raised money for several organizations including Muscular Dystrophy and Cerebral Palsey. ln cooperation with its sponsor, the Bellaire Rotary Club, interact distributed information for the Neighborhood Watch Program. The club ended its busy year with a vvell-deserved beach party at Galveston.
