Freshman Week Marks the Beginning W. Va. Wesleyan campus was the scene of mass occupation during the first week of Sep- tember. Returning upperclassmen added to the confusion for the incoming freshmen. The typi- cal Wesleyan traffic jams only added fuel to the already present headaches of freshmen parents. The parents as well as the students were receiving an orientation to the Wesleyan way of life. Orientation week provided a variety of acti- vities for new students. These activities helped familiarize the freshmen with the Wesleyan campus. Day time hours were spent in Atkin- son Auditorium taking specialized tests, while the Campus Center Program Board and Com- munity Council welcomed them in the evenings. The process of adapting to college life be- gins at Registration. No other activity can con- fuse a student than this bi-yearly process. Stu- dents form a line in front of the library, some- times for hours, to arrange their schedules, get parking stickers, buy insurance, receive meal tickets, and pay tuition. A freshman is not completely orientated until he has success- fully finished registration. Chris Wells and Carol Vigilanti orientate themselves with the Campus Center bookstore. Fathers never knew the amount of clothes their daughters owned until they took them to college, rtSH 30
