These Were Our Moments of Triumph The 1976-77 Wolfpack foot- ball team opened many doors and flew through them with flying colors . West ValIey's team offered competition as they grabbed the second place title in the Region VI Conference, second only to Ben Eielson High School. Not only did these tremendous Cheerleaders boogie tothe weifpeek beat, ahtletes dig a place in the con- ferencea but five individuals also achieve high honors . Bobby Payne placed as me Weekly Honors Daily News lVIiner's Player of the Week twice along with John g Garvey who was also awarded the same title. t V Don lVlcCumby, Homer Lord, Buster Culver, and 7 Bobby Payne all placed on the All Conference list as Offensive End, Running Back, Tackle, and Quarter- back respectively . , I The season was fruitful. Sometimes in mid-Octo- ber, ex-pro football quarterback, Daryle Lamonica, 7 previously of the Oakland Raiders, showed up. With the tremendous Pep IQ 0Vlfl9d by SDeCfaf0l'S and participants, the Wolfpack team seasoned the past year with numerous victories .

Making Ourselves at Home . West Lathrop was born in orc er to provide an educational and learning center for what was considered the overflow of high school stu- dents. From it grew what we have today, WEST VALLEY. At the beginning of the year the school was in turmoil and total chaos . By the beginning of the second Quarter however, the roots had been planted. Loyalties began to spread and the building reached for completion. November 15 was the momentous day when the remaining wing opened . No longer would the band, choir, and orchestra be forced to bus up the hill to the University, no longer would it be necessary for classes to be overgrown with bodies because shop classes and music courses reguired space too. Although the gym was not completed by that time, it reached completion in time to sponsor the Wolfpack's first game . Finally the library was opened--research papers began and, in general, life began to settle into the West Valley soil and foundation - ,!JH,,.- Md,,,,,.
