-M-w-Q., -ss? Mr. Barros Advisor Swim Trophy Presentation This year Mr. Barros, the officers, and all the boys have gone all-out to make our Boys' Club the best in the city. We have felt all along that the administration and faculty have been very cooperative in helping us to make our functions successful. During the year we have introduced various events to the school. In the fall and spring we had two successful swim meets, and a track meet which everyone seemed to enioy, We credit much of our success in these new events to the desire for competition between classes. Also, we have carried on the traditional customs of Boys' Club. The annual dance honoring the senior letter- men was one of the best ever held. In addition to the dance, we held the auto show, and directed the games at our Potlatch Day. We wish to express our thanks to all who helped on committees, and to everyone else for allowing us to have the best year yet. A79 KIM A As members of the Kimtah Staff, stu- dents are provided an opportunity to see history in the making at West Seattle. During the year the students on the staff are vividly aware of all the events hap- pening at West Seattle. Faculty, sports, and individual class events of school life are recorded by members of the staff. The process of recording these events into an organized book is completed after much thought and work. First, the staff must think up a theme to center their book around, which decides the charac- ter of the book. Qnce the theme is de- cided upon, the book is divided into vari- ous sections and assigned to certain stu- dents to complete. Through the guidance of the advisor, Mrs. McDonnell, and the co-editors, Madeleine Blitz .and Karen Parsloe, the pages are layed out and copy is made. Then the staff must worry about the deadlinesHwhen the pages are due. Kimtah is put to bed after this, and the staff relaxes and thinks about the next year's book and theme. Lena, W?
