SCIENCE DEPARTMENT The Science Department chose to remember 1ts founder with this statement made by an old friend of He was first and foremost a true scientist, and he maintained that his department should be truly scientific in all its teaching. Secondly he had a very great love for young people, especially teenagers, and had a great faith in their goodness and tremendous worth. I think that our Science Department today received a fine legacy from Mr. Carpenter and is making a real effort to keep them fresh for the new generations to follow. E. D. Bresee How do I love thee? BUSINESS DEPARTMENT The Commercial Department prepares a large number of West High students to enter the world of business shortly after graduation.
