ADVERTISEMENTS •♦48 ( Continued from page 123) 1 9 2 7 MISS TRIPP IN PAPER, (Good heavens I haven’t written a thing in here for over a year. But then, there hasn’t been anything special worth writing about. Oh well — I mean her picture was.) The September faculty is going to give a play next Friday 26 and Saturday. The name of the play is “Tweedles”. The proceeds (if there are any) go to the Students’ Scholarship fund. Miss Tripp is the “director”, that’s why she had her picture in the paper. WEST HIGH ALUMNI TO HOLD REUNION. Tomorrow at 12:30 the alumni are going to start their reunion. West graduated its first class in 1906, which gave it five or six alumni. It has been adding December to them ever since until now it has 2,763 of 21 ’em. When I get out in another half a’ dozen years or so, it will have another one. 1928 FORMER WEST HIGH STUDENTS AMONG NEW PHI BETA’S. They’ve just announced the election of four men, and twelve women, from the U. of R. to Phi Beta Kappa. Four of them were graduates April from West, Arthur A. Moehlman, Adelaide 25 E. Dorn, Florence E. Swinburne, and Dorothy Wellington. I’d say we were pretty well represented. ‘THANK YOU’ IS VERY PLEASING. I mean the Junior play was. It was simply delicious. LeRoy Gates was a “preacher” in it, and he sure knew his sermons. Phyllis Holton was a “coy French April maid” who “got her man”, and how she 28 did! Ray Doyle was the “man”—with lots of money. Oh, Man! And Bob Metzdorf was a drunk. I never saw anything so funny. He ought to go on the stage. I mean he really had! The rest of the cast was Marcia Randall, Evelyn Millner, Betty Brigham, Jean Boyd, Dick Bennett, Bob Fagan, Burton Schaefer, Slater Conn, Alfred Delgado, Raymond Barker, Bob McCormack, Bob Leinen, and Franklyn Hutchinson. OCCIDENT ISSUES SCANDAL SHEET! They have finally printed their “Dusty Mirror” and is it good?! It’s perfectly hilarious. On the front page they had Mr. Spinning advocating hooped-skirts. Im- June agine! Inside they had the craziest stuff, a 9 faculty elopement (which wasn’t true of course), a picture of an auto, taken about twenty years ago, that they said was Mr. Bennett s new car, a picture of Wilfred Despard who was supposed to be a mumbledy-pegger, and perfectly screaming articles about Marble’s Marble Team, and Sauer’s Sling-shot Shooters.
