Good-by To Memories Last fall, as the 1973-74 school year began, we expected an uneventful. mediocre year. Many felt the athletic teams were going to be average, perhaps the football and basketball teams would win at least half of their games, but we anticipated nothing really outstanding. Maybe'' the volleyball girls would return to the State Tournament. Maybe'' at least a couple of our wrestlers would travel to State. Maybe the track team would do well. The prospects of moving into the new school at the semester break were very dim and the old. dismal building would be home for yet another year, adding more disappointments to what loomed as a disappointing year. Then WOW! The year turned out to be one of the MOST EVENTFUL, fantastic years in WPHS history. The football team was Huskcr Co-Champs. Volleyball went to State for the second year in a row. The basketball team went to State for the first time in 22 years. Seven students made it to State in Speech. Five wrestlers made State with two earning third place finishes. Track won districts with six people going to State. Musical department rated excellent at Contest. Golf team went to State for the second consecutive year. FHA and FFA won many State Awards. The Annual Staff dedicates this book to everyone who helped make 1973-74 great. Hello To Dreams
