Changing County Government Day parties as well as the format of the prom are a few of the changes accomplished by the Junior Class. The prom, having the theme of “A Night in Las Vegas,” was divided into three rooms instead of the customary one room. The Liberal Party replaced the Nationalists as the second party to the Federalists. Fervent activities preceded the election which made the task of choosing candidates even harder. Strange Japanese muttering accompanied the Juniors as they prepared for the Junior Class Play. ‘‘Teahouse of the August Moon,” which was put on two nights instead of the customary one, was directed by Miss Shalander. Problems in American History came as a refreshing difference in the regular format of teaching with Mr. Black’s new inquiry method. Given a broad topic, the class decided what they wanted to learn on the subject. Using their own initiative they did research and then discussed it in class. Choosing a class ring became a hard decision as each member was left on his own to decide the shape and color of his ring. Class Officers: Peg Hartman.
