F.F.A. was one of the many organizations who joined in the Homecoming spirit by entering a float. The junior class enjoyed the dancing of Roger Kasse-baum, representing an Oakland Viking. The clowns, Dick Seelmeyer and Roger Starr, added much fun and laughter to the Homecoming parade. Also adding to the festivities was the G.A.A. float. Making use of their Home Economics are the F.H.A. West Point has good aim on Oakland. girls with a recipe for a Victory cake. G. A. A. THE PEPPERETTES Here a few of the Pep Club girls make pom poms for the evening's game. The West Point Cadet Band willingly takes part in the downtown pep rally as the PepClub forms a snake dance. Initiation of the new members into the National Honor Society. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The parents visiting on Patron's Night and the student body witnessed the initiation of the girls into the National Honor Society. In November the Student Council sponsored a school dance which was attended by many students. Parents and students enjoyed refreshments in the hot lunch room after classes on Patron's Night. FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA Ten new members were initiated into F.H.A. this year. Besides their regular meetings the chapter was host to the District Convention held in West Point. The F.H.A. found time to have a Christmas party, at which they exchanged small gifts, and to honor their mothers at a banquet in the spring. They also sponsored a Clothing Drive for needy children overseas. Coach Arnold watches intently while a few of the players dosome man-to-man blocking. CADET WORK-OUTS Every afternoon after school, Coach Arnold put his Cadets through a strenuous work-out. He impressed upon the players the fundamentals of blocking and tackling. He had them run through their plays until they could go through them automatically. The latter part of the practice consisted of scrimmaging. The W. P. mentor did a very fine job, considering the fact that he had only two regulars from last year's squad back.
