CCUNSELORS Mr. Preston Snapp, Mr. Ralph Traw, Mrs. Mildred Adair, Mrs. Virgina Berggren, Mrs. Moyne Iamison, Mr. Russell Harris, and Mrs. Marian Lee tnot picturedlwork- ed with each individual student to find the curriculum which suited him best. 22 ADMINISTRATION From his huge collection of student records West's head counselor, Mr. Iohn Schoolland, selects a folder so he can have the background of a stu- dent he is to meet. Mr. John Schoolland Head Counselor The counselors began their work for the '66-'67 school year in the spring of 1966. They contacted eighth graders from all the grade schools in the West district for enrollment in high school. Working with the same students throughout the year, the counselors helped each student think for himself in choosing his classes and achieving to the best of his ability. The counselors gave and interpreted tests, explained college entrance requirements, helped with job placements, made scholarship recommendations, and helped students work out their individual problems. Always interested in their stu- dents, counselors - in addition to their guidance work - sponsored clubs, councils, and other extra-curricular activi- ties.
