CQUNSELORS The guidance program at West High has but one purpose - to assist the student toward the goal he seeks. The counseling department aids a student in his choice of curriculum and with any trouble the student may encounter. John Schoolland Department Head i Mildred Adair Roy Andres Wilma Friday Preston Snapp HEALTH SERVICE Health has a great influence on progress in school. The Health Center was estab- lished to help students with their health problems. Except in cases of emergency, students must have a pass to enter the Health Center. Requests for off-campus passes for medical or health reasons must be made through the Health Center. Md ' LIBRA RY The biggest change in the Library during the year was that no fines were charged for overdue books and'stu- dents could check out four books at one time. The greatest disturbance was students listening to records through earphones who often laughed aloud without realizing it, because they couldn't hear themselves. Trays clack, cash registers clang, the juke box blares, and the talking increases. This is our lunch hour! Each day 2,000 students go through the Cafeteria lines. They eat over 4,000 rolls a week. The Staff says the favorite foods are ham- burgers, steaks, roast beef, spaghetti, and Mexican foods. To this hard-working Staff we would like to extend a big THANK YOU!
