Here we find two girls helping the boys with the decorations for the Boys' League Formal Desert Starlight which was held Saturday, December 20, 1958. 1 Boys' League includes every boy enrolled at West High. lt brings them together in a closer relationship, and it gives each boy a chance to take part in school activities. Each year Boys' League presents the Jim Edwards Memorial Award to the outstanding Senior football player. They also sponsor an annual winter formal dance to raise funds for various projects. The purpose of Girls' League is to promote a democratic spirit and closer relationships between all girls at West. This year's proiects have been centered around raising funds for the American Field Service exchange program and the Loop, working at Gompers Clinic and Golden Gate Settlement.
