The Prineipal's Message fr-'Imgf'z.fv.3:f-fm-L-.f '- 1 -if 2 1 TJVT if ,,,, f' ., -yer, rziffff . 5 2, ff . fi 1 jr ff f f f 4---:avi Principal Jack H. Neulighc The theme of your Yearbook eminently sym- bolizes the age in which we live. This is the era of man's conquest of space-of journeys to air's outer edge, of flights to Mars and perhaps a land- ing upon the moon. The slay, no longer serene, now stirs with the hum of aircraft streaking across its face at speeds too fast for IT121IliS re- flexes to control. But the limitations of human sight and action present no obstacle. Confronted with a problem of great magnitude, man's inven- tive genius has created radar, thereby making possible continuous observation and contact with these space-ships. Today, unmanned satellites study the earth as Well as nearby space. Tomorrow they may per- chance orbit the moon or embark upon totally new areas of exploration. Tomorrow, human beings on journeys into space may see the moon at relatively close range, observing the fine details of its surface unblurred by the turbulence of the atmosphere. That people will some day fly into outer space is well within the realm of possibility. The spirit of human adventure cannot be suppressed, no matter what the hazard, no matter what the cost. The marvels of the space age are just beginning to unfold. lntercontinental jets are now on scheduled flights. Tomorrow, interplanetary travel! l litcl1 your wagon to a star, and Climb aboard. The slty's the limit! Yours for an exciting future, J!
