Clarinet, sl- musicale in which Every year there is a combined . the Hve girls' high schools of Philadelphia participate and a music festival given in our auditorium hy the VVest Catholic Girls' musicians. To prepare for these two events, as well as for the numerous oc- casions when the hand and orchestra are called upon to play, the Sisters of Saint joseph, who comprise the Sisters' Staff of the Nlusic Department, are as- sisted hy the skill of lay teachers, many of whom are recognized authorities. The Philadelphia Orchestra boasts of a goodly number of these instructors as part of its group. An individual lesson is given every week by these teachers on the various instruments to every student who has selected Music as a major suhject. Each pupil has also the opportunity of listening to the lesson given to the rest of the group
