Were the picture in color, the dark blue of Hallahan, the tan and brown of Notre Dame, the maroon and tan of Little Flower and Saint Hubert's, and the tan and green of our own School would make a delightful contrast to the boys' suits. Grace before meals is said at lunch and the Angelus at the period nearest noon. One half of the student body goes to weekly Mass in the auditorium. However. one of the most gratifying aspects of life at West Catholic is the frequency with which girls make pop visits to Our Lord in the Queen of Peace Chapel. Before and after school, between classes, the pews and aisles of that tiny chapel are al- ways crowded by petitioning and grateful pupils. The choice this year is Moliere's play, Le Bourgeois Gentilhommef' Actresses, singers, and dancers participate in the amusing play revolving around hlonsieur tlourdain who craves gentlemanliness. Desiring to acquire the social graces of a gentleman, lylonsieur -lourdain hires several tutors to instruct him. These teachers' lessons are more hilarious than successful. Due to a meany gremlin, photogenia, two pictures were unable to be developed. Perhaps you can picture the scene in which they appeared, we hope so. One shows M. Jourdain, who desired social graces, hiring teachers, A. Bompadre, T. Kane, M. Lawler, R. Russo, M. Laf- ferty, W. McGonigal, and M. Negroni. The other portrayed C. Simmonds as she watched J. Pupils attending are permitted to take courses giving them two credits. For the last two years, West Catho- lic has held a summer school for Catholic high school Juniors. The school commences in June and fin- ishes the last week in August with Monsignor Bonner presiding and awarding diplomas. Some of these pupils are receiving Holy Communion for the first time in West Catholic for some are from other schools. Others. our own girls, are receiving for the last time as pupils. The success of the Christmas party was due to the hard work of Mistress of Ceremony. Rita Dorsey. Mrs. I. Quigley Gillen. and Helen Doyle. One of the features of this novel program was the orchestra from St. Vin- cent's Home, directed by Ann Ounan. A special tribute goes to Mrs. Irene Quigley Gillen for the best party ever held at West.
