CLASS PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE When they now shoot forth their fruit, you know that summer is nigh HERE comes a day when the bud must become a flower, when the seed must bear fruit. So, too, in the life of every West Catholic Senior there comes Graduation Day, marking an ending, and initiating a beginning in the life of every girl: As she looks into the past, that day signi' iies an ending, a conclusion of all those knightferrantries that find for their background high school lifeg in relation to the future, it signifies a beginning, an opening of a world that never ceases to need youth, needs you and me and our myriads of sister graduates. That the world is in the throes of an economic depres' sion, that industry has slackened, that skies are smokeless, should not dispirit youth. New ideals, new hopes, new aspirations clamor for expression iii living. New lamps must shine where feeble candles failed to burn. Yet, whether our adventures, yours and mine, be on the peaks of Darien or in the valleys of strife, there will shine faith, the gleam from West Catho1ic's Torch of Truth, her children's heritage.
