THE VOTE FOR TEEN-AGERS As this election year rolls on we will be hearing much about the proposed law to give the vote to eighteen year-olds. There will be much said both pro and con on this very important issue, so as an eighteen year-old, I should like at this time to voice my opinion. Now, more than ever before, we as young adults are taking an active interest in our nation's future: and why not, for this is the future in which we plan to work, make our homes, have our families and live our lives. We have become politically conscious by studying history, economics, aml government in school. We have been taught to weigh issues and look for the good. Now we should be given a chance to voice our opinions and put our ideas to trial. It is important to us that our nation have peace and prosperity in order that we may enjoy life to its fullest. Most of us remember the hardships of World War II and certainly all of us remember the Korean War and its ultimate results. We as future parents want our children to grow up without the hard- ships that war brings. Therefore is it not only right that we be given the privilege, and indeed it is one, to have our say in the way our country is governed? Should not we too be allowed a stake in our nation's future?
