HORIZO S Homemaking helps to prepare girls for the future. The aims are to promote international good will and to foster the develop- ment of leadership. In cooking, the first year class serves a breakfast to teachers. The sec- ond year class serves a lunch- eon andthe third year class serves a dinner for the school board, administrators, and the central staff. In sewing, the first year class makes simple dresses. The second year class makes children's clothes and the third year class makes Wool suits, dresses, and coats. A style show is held each year Vocational Agriculture gives boys a Wide range of trades to specialize in. Among some of thes e trades are welding , cement- ing and livestock raising. The boys attended the Annual Live- stock Show in Robstovvn. The Vocational Agriculture building has been remodeled this Year' Vickie De La Garza gets help in cutting out a dress. Fort ALL YoUTH N , K The Physical Education Program is designed in such a manner that it may be used , or partially used, as a screen- ing device in selecting candidates for the athletic teams . The coaches believe that the de- velopment of physical skills is just as important to students as any of the other skills . They believe that good g physical skills have a very direct bearing on the development of all the l rest of the skills . i This year the department is hoping to establish an intramural type pro- gram in at least some ofthe major activities that are offered in P,E,-- activities such as basketball, volley- ball and track. An intramural type T program is one that they intend to set up during the activity period--once or perhaps twice a week. 'NY' w Girls participate in P,E, V, Coach Garcia demonstrates push-ups. 31 1
