State FHA President MARTHA ANNE BAGWELL FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA The Future Homemakers of America have played a big part in our nation as well as in Our Storyi' by endeavoring to further an interest in home and community life since 194-6 when FHA was born. It offers opportunity for members to develop initiative in planning and carrying out activities to better their home life and that of their families. The West Memphis chapter was very busy this year observing National FHA Week, U. N. Day, U. N. Week, attending the federation meeting, November 14, at Forrest City, and the state convention, March 29, at Little Rock, over which Martha Anne Bagwell presided. Nancy Savage served as second vice president of the federation this year. FHA had several firsts'7 this year such as initiation week, Daddy-Date Nite, Mother and Daughter Tea, and an open house after the White Christmas Party in the gym. The Annual Fashion Show was one of the main highlights of the year. The members were frequently called on to serve at PTA, faculty meetings, and for various civic organizations.
