HWlffZW!VOM!6'.5' IfP,419ffWf!Vf The Home Economics Department consists of three classes with fifty girls enrolled. On February 24, the entire group presented a fashion show in review - THE BIG PAY OFF. The girls modeled their dresses, suits, and pajamas. The girls made a visit to the Alabama Power Company where they enjoyed two wonderful demonstrations of modern equipment. There were seven garments entered in the State Fair exhibit, of which five won first prizes, and one won second prize. First prizes won were: Nina Fields, a dressg Martha Parvin, an apron, Collette Dollar, a skirt, class projects, a housecoat and curtains. Becky Poole won a second prize for a dress. Garments made by the first year home economics girls are: aprons, pajamas, and skirtsg by second year girls: suits, skirts, dresses, and jumpers. First year girls have cooked egg ala goldenrod, cinnamon toast, oatmeal, caramel icing, corn bread muffins, sweet muffins, biscuits, scrambled eggs, cocoa, and dried fruit. Second year girls have cooked eggs a la goldenrod, lemon pie, strawberry shortcake, potato au gratin, caramel cake, and cheese straws.
