Name? Homeroom? Mock Election I could have danced all night. G. Schlienkert, B. Conway, B. Ulvastad, E. Barger, N. Christensen, I. Miller, B. Dutton Senior Christmas Memories Are We've got . . . steam heat! Football Half-time First Semester Senior year for the class of '57-a year of fad and fancy, fatigue and frustration, fun and friends. Nine- teen fifty-seven was a year that memory will not ignore. First And of the year was a mock political con- vention. A Coupon Book was nominated for President of class activities. Banners were waved, there was cheering and yelling, and Mr. Book's supporters marched through the aisles. Memories of summer political conventions were not far into the background, when the student body voted in a mock election. Incumbent President Eisenhower was the overwhelming victor! You Can't Take It With Youl' by Hart and Kauf- man was chosen for the fall play. This hilarious comedy had the audience laughing all night. No resume of the year 1957 could be complete without a mention of Elvis Presley, and Ivy Leaguen style clothes. How many dozens of locker doors had pictures of that side-burned, rock n' roll singer? These fads certainly took the fancy of the class of '57. Senior dress-up day preceded the Senior class party, Sleighbells of Snow. With the girls in their new evening dresses and high heels, and the boys in full dress suits, it was suddenly very -easy to realize that these teen-agers were Well on the road to maturity, and adulthood. The beauty of the traditional Christ- mas aud, and the Choir caroling in the halls, will be memories cherished in the hearts of many of the class of l57. The Winter concert closed the activi- ties in the First semester, Final exams, frustrating though they Were, meant that their last high school year was half over. Did she kill the school spirit? Pep Aud M. Archer, I. Frederick, K. Matthews, B. Ru- bin, K. Kcliher, L. Morton, E. Wheeler, M. Church.
