From its early beginning, 1820, at the Fremont School, the Salt Lake City High School has grown and become known as West High. Besides the Fre- mont School, the Clayton Building and the Utah National Armory on Pierpont Street were other locations of this first public high school. Finally, in 1901, the old University of Utah building became the site of the Salt Lake City High School. Through mass meetings and a series of parades held by the students, the funds were appropriated and our main building was erected in 1922. The screaming of You Panthers was first heard in October, 1914, and along with this titling of the Panthers burst forth the flash of red and black. This is our treasured heritage from the past. er MN. s J X ..-, l' vat:-sh ., ' At 5' 'im A lk ' X'N,.1' f v- . -1 4, ,.,, - Ul f ' I .L,,,.'L.
