We may as well pretend that we know ! Social Sturges The pessimistic philosopher tells you that the world is a confused organization. To you, however, the world is exciting and adventurous. The far away places of romance and intrigue that you have of- ten dreamed of visiting become actualities. Folded within the pages of your history book you find the awe and coldness of the wars fought by your forefathers in their attempts to clear a path of freedom for you. Famous crusaders and monarchs live once again as the colorful figures which they were centuries ago. You travel from one end of the earth to the other and meet the great men of history, feeling the thrill of adventure, mystery, romance, and accomplishment in your social studies class. A typical West High social studies class.
