Marching in tempo to the educational pace of a free America, West High students step lively in their trek schoolward, confident in the future of our democratic way of life. Marching not to the martial music of war, destruc- tion and suffering, which has characterized the world the past several years, West students, typical of other teen-agers, accept the challenge of solving social, po- litical, and economic problems which confront all of us. More than three-score West High boys made the supreme sacriiice in World War II. West High students are resolved to carry out the principles for which our gold star boys fought. This can be achieved by schooling our God-given powers, and harnessing the potential resources in the direction of serving our fellow-man.
