CTIVI-l J ation MISS BLANCHE M. KERN, Vice Principal Among the memories of the senior class of '44 will remain the ever impressing personality of Blanche M. Planting unusual flowers is a favorite pastime for Miss Kern when she isn't knitting, weaving, rug-making, enjoying musical art, or keep' ing house. A hobby that interests Miss Kern is traveling, before the shortage of gasoline. She has seen almost everything of interest in Ohio, a goodly part of the United Stati, especially the western portion, and highlighting this hobby was a trip to Alas a. For amusement Miss Kern takes great delight in translating Virgil into metrical verse, and also in writing genial letters to members of the family at holiday time in the metrical verse to relate the news in jingle form. Miss Kern also has kept a diary in metrical verse. The class of '44, as they wind their way through life, will uphold and emulate the Christian qualities so often impressed upon it by the able counsel and advice of Miss Blanche M.
