JOBS, JOBS, JOBS When the 2:22 p.m. bell rings, the school day Is officially over. For some students, however, the work will continue after school hours. Many Wessex students work in local stores and business several times a week Through these jobs, students gain valuable experience in a variety of fields. They learn skills ranging from sales techniques to office procedures In no way binding a student to a specific type of employment, these jobs offer an opportunity to earn some extra money The majority of student jobs pay the mini- mum wage of $3.35 an hour With time and hard work, young employees are often rewarded with a raise in salary up to and exceeding $4.00 per hour. Their hard earned paychecks are spent in many different ways. Some students simply save their paychecks for future use, whether if be for a new car, spending money for a mid-year vacation, or a new spring wardrobe Others set aside a portion of each check for their future college education. And of course, there are those who can't wait to cash their check and immediately take off on a well-deserved stopping spree , io TLjr on, c l.
