A Moment Shared Say the word Valentine’s Day and what conies to mind? A day of romance. A day to send flowers and candy of your boyfriend or girlfriend. A day to show friends and family how much you care. Well, this year, to West Carrollton High School students and faculty members, Valentine's Day meant all of these things plus something more. On February 4, 1984, at 8 p.m., the high school cafeteria came to life with music and dance as the NHS Senior Council sponsored Valentine’s Dance began. This dance, unlike Homecoming or Prom, was more casual and added a new kind of twist. Being a turnabout, it became the perfect chance for every girl to ask the man of her dreams” out to dinner and then on to the dance and most of the girls jumped at this chance. Although getting close” was one of the main ideas behind the dance, music for fast dancing was the more popular choice. The evening was a great success and hopefully this tradition will continue. 24 Valentine's Dance
