Here is your yearbook. Long hours have been spent trying to make it a memorial that you will treasure all your life. We have been working on the 1959 PIRATAN with the idea that we were going to make this annual the best ever. Now, a word of wisdom acquired after many hours of dedicated toil-the best doesn't come easily. This statement, we believe, will bring understanding from preceding staffs and an attentive ear from next year's crew. In the first section of this PIRATAN we have tried to picture the many ways in which We utilize our time at school. Certainly, a great deal of our time is very wisely occupied by studying and learning-two very important factors. At West Carrollton High School we also have time for expanding our personalities in other ways-time for developing leadership, time for acquiring social graces, time for devotion, time for play and physical activity, and time for making friends. With this idea in mind, We have chosen TIME as the theme of this book, and we are using the face of a clock as the symbol of this theme. The co-operation given by the faculty and student body to the production of this book is very much appreciated. We extend our thanks to all of them. We hope you will enjoy the PIRATAN as much as we have enjoyed publishing it. It has been ours for almost a year. Now it belongs to you.
