The waves smashed upon the beach sending seaweed and drift wood everywhere. They smashed against the rocks with the power and noise that no man could recreate . icauon Mr. Arnold H. Lock ley - J: WELL LOVED How can you forget someone who was one of the best in his profession? One who believed that all children should be given an equal chance at life? One who changed the lives of many young people from bad to better? The many people who had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Lockley knew what it was like to be cared about. They could see that everyone wasn ' t out to get them. That people, like Mr. Lockley, were around and could help. Yes, how can anyone forget someone who did that much for our society? Mr. Lockley, a man whom I didn ' t know, but I am sure he was well loved. I never got to talk with him but I am sure he was well loved. I am sure he was a swell person and I am sure he was well loved. A person that showed . friend- ship but I am sure you are probably thinking, how I know all these things. Well, I looked at his picture and imagined that he was surely well loved. LIFE Life is ' very hard to stand up to Many have their troubles just like you We have to strive for things as they come Or we ' ll never get them done We have to seek and look You won ' t find life just by opening a book Know what to do when you find what you had to find Don ' t throw it away or Life will be just a waste of time ' . ON PREJUDICE Although I partake in the joys of morning, the brilliant colors and hues expressed by the sun rise mean little to me as they appear over the horizon, for I am color blind — Students at West Campus 3 BHS

PRINCIPAL ' S MESSAGE On behalf of the students and staff at West Campus I would like to dedicate this Yearbook in memory of Mr. Arnold Lockley, Vice-Principal, who passed away in December, 1973. Mr. Lockley envisioned that the year would be a most successful one for students . I know he would be proud of the many fine accomplish- ments of West Campus students and would wish you good luck in the future . MR. ARNOLD LOCKLEY, Vice-Principal of West Campus, Berkeley High School 1972 - 1973 For those who cared for him as he cared for us . . . Seed for the earth the fading lily rises; It springs, it grows, it flourishes , and dies; So this fair flower scarce blossomed for a day; Short was the bloom and far too short the stay. . . . he will be missed, but he will be remembered. Norman L. Thompson A friend and colleague Dedicated to the memory of Sincerely yours Kenneth W. Roberts
