I hope that the lessons learned through your homes and school during your high school years have given you strength of character and perseverance. I hope, too, that you have gained the basic knowledge and under- standing to carry you through the next step of your lives. I know that you have enjoyed your school years and I am sure that you will long remember many incidents which brought you moments of happiness. Remember that real happiness comes from within. Equipped with understanding, goodness and respect for others, you can do much to help solve many of the crises in this world of ours by trying to make yourselves into better citizens. ENGLISH The purpose of the English Department is threefold: First, to introduce the students to the worthwhile literature of the worldg Second, to give the student a substantial mastery of the English language in order that he may think and converse intelligentlyg and third, to use these skills for lucid writ- ten expression. Linda Boyd gives a sales speech and dem- onstration before classmates in a speech class. -GUIDANCE Do you have a suggestion which might benefit the school? Do you have a problem you would like to discuss confidentially? Do you get lonesome at times and cannot find anyone to talk to?
